The Spelling Bee pits local businesses and organizations against one another in a raucous competition, with over 500 audience members cheering and jeering along the way!  19 teams representing big-hearted organizations like Alamo Drafthouse, the Austin American-Statesman, Half Price Books, and Silicon Labs compete for bragging rights and the top prize.

The Annual Great Grown-Up Spelling Bee is the most fun fundraiser in Austin, packing the room with teams of competitive grown-ups in wacky costumes, cheering supporters, and celebrity officials.  Our recent Bee Officials have included Senator Kirk Watson, Esther’s Follies Ray Anderson, retired DA Ronnie Earle, County Judge Sam Biscoe, and KEYE TV News Anchor Ron Oliveira.
