Health Literacy Trainings for Adult Educators

Health literacy trainings for adult education instructors cover teaching methods and lesson planning strategies to incorporate health-related information into the classroom, helping students become self-advocates of their health and that of their families. The Literacy Coalition customizes trainings to meet individual organization's needs and invites instructors to attend centrally located workshops scheduled throughout the year.

Our Health Literacy Instructional Manual includes lesson planning guides for instructors of English Language Learners, Adult Basic Education, and GED. It also includes about 30 sample health-related lessons and activities surrounding Healthcare Access and Navigation, Disease Prevention, and Chronic Disease Management.
