LCCT recognized a need for a report containing the most streamlined, accurate, and current data to reveal the various literacy-related needs in Central Texas. By gathering information already available to the public, including data from the 2007 and 2008 American Community Survey, the Texas Education Agency, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, and the 2003 National Assessment of Adult Literacy, the Literacy Coalition has organized the data into an easily understandable snapshot of various literacy-related needs.

Presentation on Central Texas CapacityIn June 2010, the Literacy Coalition convened the Central Texas Regional Literacy Summit to formally release the report on literacy in Central Texas. Afterward, an awards luncheon was held to recognize public servants who have been outstanding champions of literacy for our community.
