U. S. Senator
6 yr. Term
Debates and writes new federal laws. Votes on constitutional amendments to submit to American voters.

United States Representatives
2 yr. Term
Debates and writes new federal laws. Votes on constitutional amendments to submit to American voters.

Governor
4 yr. Term
Chief executive of the state. The governor recommends policies to the Legislature, signs bills passed by the Legislature, and can veto bills passed by the Legislature.

Lieutenant Governor
4 yr. Term
Acts as the Governor if the Governor is away or cannot serve. The Lieutenant Governor is also president of the Texas Senate and appoints all chairs and members of Senate committees.

Attorney General
4 yr. Term
The attorney general’s responsibilities include: enforcing health, safety, and consumer regulations, and collecting child support payments.

Comptroller of Public Accounts

Manages state taxes and finances

Commissioner of General Land Office
