First Book

First Book of Central Texas brings books to Texas Kids.

First Book is a national non-profit organization that puts new books into the hands of needy children in hundreds of communities nationwide. Under the direction of the Literacy Coalition, First Book of Central Texas works through local volunteers to select the most effective local literacy programs and provides them with grants of free books and educational materials.

Programs that have received books from First Book of Central Texas include:

Any Baby Can, Community Action Inc., AISD, Capital Area Reach Out and Read, and Communities in Schools.
