1. Raises literacy awareness to make it a priority issue in the region.
2. Develops a regional literacy plan with endorsements from business, government and community leadership.
3. Operates a community hotline to link learners with programs, help volunteers identify opportunities, and disseminate information to other programs and to the public.
4. Maintains a directory of community literacy services containing such details as program types, goals, target ages, contacts, and times of operation.
5. Offers assistance, training, best practice models and support to literacy providers.
6. Produces annual research document that tracks and reports literacy statistics.
7. Creates opportunities to maximize resources in the community that fund and support literacy services.
8. Coordinates an annual literacy leadership conference and facilitates ongoing literacy dialogue in the community.
9. Coordinates task forces to address specific local literacy needs including
